Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

CHARGERS END OUT OF CONFERENCE SCHEDULE AGAINST CURRY

New London, NH – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team traveled to Massachusetts for a Thursday evening game against the Curry Colonels. 

Rapid Recap:  

  • Tevin Edmunds (Manchester, NH) jumper secured the first points of the game for the Chargers. Shortly after, Sean Peterson (Chester, NH) drained a shot from beyond the arc to give the Chargers a 5-0 lead. Peterson and Edmunds would each score plays later, this time Peterson with a layup and Edmunds with a three. About two minutes later, Emmanuel Adarkwa (Lawrenceville, GA) made a jumper to put the Chargers up by three. A Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) layup, and two jumpers made by Tobey Bellows (Waterbury, VT) would see the Chargers trail by two points halfway through the first half. Buckets by Peterson, Adarkwa and Lapierre Caissie kept the deficit at two points with five minutes to go in the half. With less than three minutes to go, Tobey Bellows drained a three. Adarkwa made a layup in the next offensive possession for the Chargers. The Chargers would lead 33-32 at the half. 

  • The Colonels went on a 9-0 run to start the second half. But the Chargers bounced back quickly with a jumper made by Peterson. Edmunds, Bellows, Lapierre Caissie, and Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, VA) each made a bucket to help the Chargers tie the game up at 48 with 10:32 to go in the game. Bellows and Adarkwa would each convert another basket. With less than a minute to go in the game, Bellows and Adarkwa each scored a three. The Colonels would win the match 86-67.  

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Edmunds led the scoring for the Chargers with a career-high 15-point performance. 

  • Bellows ended the game with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Bellows has had double-digit scoring performances in each of the last four games. 

  • Peterson earned his fourth double-double of the season as he recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds. 

  • Jeremiah Predin led the scoring for the Colonels with 25 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 28 points in the paint.

The Chargers begin conference play on Saturday as they will take on Emmanuel College in Boston, Massachusetts at 1pm.
