MEN'S BASKETBALL PICKS UP FIRST CONFERENCE WIN OF THE YEAR

New London, NH – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team won in what was a competitive match on Saturday, against Mitchell College. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Emmanuel Adarkwa (Lawrenceville, GA) made one basket and Tevin Edmunds (Manchester, NH) made two baskets early in the game. Sean Peterson (Chester, NH) and Tobey Bellows (Waterbury, VT) both scored buckets to put the Chargers up 11-4. Peterson and Bellows each added another basket to the score. Adarkwa made two consecutive jumpers. Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) scored a jumper followed by a Dante De Moor (Ronse, Ooost-Vlaanderen, Belgium) three. De Moor scored a layup with 5:55 left in the half to put the Chargers up 32-17. Adarkwa added a jumper and a three. Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) scored a three. The Chargers led at the half 46-22. 

  • Peterson scored three layups at the beginning of the second half. Bellows and Lapierre Caissie each added a layup. Blunt scored back-to-back threes. Edmunds and Adarkwa both scored a bucket. Edmunds scored three baskets and Blunt scored two baskets as the Chargers led 89-84 with 47 seconds remaining in the game. The Chargers won the match 93-90. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Peterson scored a career-high 20 points and recorded 17 rebounds.  

  • Edmunds ended the game on 15 points. 

  • De Moor scored a career-high 11 points. 

  • Troy Butler led the scoring for Mitchell with 20 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 36 points in the paint. 

Up Next: 

On Tuesday, the Chargers will travel to Northfield, Vermont to take on Norwich University at 7pm.
