MEN'S BASKETBALL HOSTS DEAN COLLEGE IN WEEKEND MATCHUP

New London, NH – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team played their first home conference game of the year on Saturday afternoon against Dean. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) and Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, VA) both scored buckets early in the first half to get the scoring started for the Chargers. Emmanuel Adarkwa (Lawrenceville, GA) added two threes and two jumpers to the score. Lapierre Caissie and Tobey Bellows (Waterbury, VT) each scored layups. Adarkwa and Hayden Brown (Australia) each drained threes. A Lapierre Caissie layup and a three by Bellows saw both teams tied at 31. Sean Peterson (Chester, NH) made a layup. The Bulldogs had a 43-35 lead going into the halftime break. 

  • Adarkwa and Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) both made baskets early in the second half. Lapierre Caissie added another layup and Adarkwa added another three. Thomas converted a layup with about 14 minutes left in the game. Lapierre Caissie and Tevin Edmunds (Manchester, NH) both scored layups. Lapierre Caissie scored another layup, off a fast break this time. Blunt drained a three. Bellows, Lapierre Caissie, and Thomas all added buckets to the score. Derek Mendez (El Paso, TX) scored a three in the last minute of the game. The Bulldogs won the match 104-74. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Adarkwa led the scoring for the Chargers with 20 points. Adarkwa also went 4-5 from three-point range. 

  • Lapierre Caissie ended the game with 16 points. 

  • Bellows ended the game on eight points and five rebounds. 

  • Izayah Porter led the scoring for Dean with 34 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 30 points in the paint. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will play New England College away on Tuesday evening for their third GNAC game of the year.
