MIDDLETON, CONN. - The Colby-Sawyer women's cross country team makes some noise against some tough competition and regionally ranked teams on Saturday morning during the Cardinal Invitational.
Rapid Recap:
- Leah O'Neill (Peabody, Mass.) was the top runner for the Chargers as she had another career day. O'Neill would set another personal best, running her first 6k of the season in 24:21, breaking her previous best by over a minute!
- Jacklyn Anderson (Hanover, N.H.) and Adriana Nadeau (Londonderry, N.H.) would finish as the second and third Chargers respectively as Anderson would make her debut in the women's 6k. Anderson would set a high mark for herself, crossing the line in 24:46. Nadeau would finish right behind Anderson, finishing in a time of 24:47.
- A pair of first year's, Annika Lackstrom (New London, N.H.) and Carly Eaton (Hampton, N.H.) would also make their debuts in the 6k to round out the Chargers scoring. Lackstrom would cross the line fourth for the Chargers with a time of 26:20. Eaton would finish as the fifth Charger, running a strong 27:52.
Inside the Numbers:
- The Chargers would finish in 12th as a team, while finishing just 29 points behind a team that recently received some regional ranking votes in Eastern Connecticut.
- With four Chargers making debuts in the 6k, Colby-Sawyer would pick up five total personal bests on the day.
