Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

MEN'S BASKETBALL STARTS END OF SEMESTER ROAD TRIP AGAINST PLYMOUTH ST.

Plymouth, NH – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team played the Panthers of Plymouth State University on Wednesday evening. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • The Panthers started off the game with a 9-0 run. The Chargers responded with a strong 5-0 run, as Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, VA) made a layup and Tobey Bellows made a layup and a free throw. Sean Peterson (Chester, NH), Tevin Edmunds and James Johnson all made buckets as the Panthers would lead 16-11 with 12:29 left in the first half. With 11 minutes left, Edmunds scored three layups within 50 seconds to cut the deficit to four points. At about the seven-minute mark, Bellows drained a three. With less than five minutes to go, Emmanuel Adarkwa (Lawrenceville, GA) made a jumper, and Peterson made a layup. The Panthers would lead 34-26. Adarkwa would continue scoring by making a layup and a three. Thomas would score a layup in the final minute of the half. Going into halftime, the Panthers would lead 43-33. 

  • In the second half, Adarkwa and Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) would both have trips to the free-throw line where they went 2-2. Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) made a layup, followed Lapierre Caissie getting a steal for the Chargers. With 4:50 left in the game, Edmunds scored a layup off a fast break opportunity. With about three minutes to go, Dante DeMoor (Ronse, Ooost-Vlaanderen, Belgium) and Blunt both made buckets for the Chargers. The Panthers would go on to win the game. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Edmunds scored a season-high 11 points, leading the scoring for the Chargers. 

  • Adarkwa scored 10 points making it his second-straight game scoring double digits. 

  • Peterson recorded a season-high 12 rebounds and recorded eight points on Wednesday. 

  • Yansel Reyes led the scoring for the Panthers with 21 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 32 points in the paint. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will next travel to Westfield State University on Monday for a non-conference matchup with a 7pm tipoff.
