CHARGERS FINISH FIRST SEMESTER OF PLAY BEFORE WINTER BREAK

Wenham, MA – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team travelled to Massachusetts to play Gordon College in a non-conference matchup. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • The Chargers got the first points on the board, courtesy of a three from Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, VA). Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) and Tobey Bellows would both make baskets, as the Chargers would lead 7-6. Bellows and Junior Efosa would each score buckets, as Gordon would lead 16-12. Moments later, Emmanuel Adarkwa (Lawrenceville, GA) knocked down a three. Halfway through the first half, James Johnson would knock down a jumper. Johnson would continue scoring two minutes later, by draining a three. In the last four minutes of the half, Blunt scored one basket and Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) scored two baskets. The Fighting Scots would lead 42-27 at the half. 

  • Sean Peterson (Chester, NH) scored a jumper right away in the second half. About 90 seconds later, Peterson and Thomas both made layups for the Chargers. Adarkwa scored his second three of the game 30 seconds later. Moments after that, Adarkwa drained another one from behind-the-arc. Inside 14 minutes, Lapierre Caissie made two consecutive jumpers. Adarkwa went on to make his 4th three of the game and scored a jumper after that. Tevin Edmunds and Bellows made layups with less than eight minutes to go. Following that, Bellows scored a jumper and a three. Peterson and Dominic Rodriguez both made layups. Inside two minutes, Bellows and Dante De Moor (Ronse, Ooost Vlaanderen, Belgium) both scored threes. The Fighting Scots would win 87-73. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Bellows led the scoring for the Chargers with 15 points. This was the 5th game where Bellows scored 10+ points. 

  • Adarkwa ended the game with 14 points, going 4-7 from three-point range. 

  • Peterson led the Chargers in rebounds (9) and scored seven points. 

  • Isaac Jarvis and Alex Daniel both scored 22 points for the Fighting Scots. 

  • The Chargers shot 45% from three-point range.

The Chargers return to the court in 2026, when they face SUNY Canton on January 3 at the Hogan Sports Center.
