Strong Second Half Not Enough Against Falcons

FITCHBURG, MASS. - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team wrapped up a four game road trip in Fitchburg on Tuesday night against Fitchburg St. 

Rapid Recap:
  • The Falcons would get the game started in just the third minute on a goal from Sam Amara from Jair Santos. Fitchburg would go on to take an early 2-0 lead on a 16th minute goal by Brandon Gonzalez.
  • The Chargers would cut the lead in half thanks to First Year Logan Vong's first collegiate goal. The Chargers would keep the Falcons at bay, and stall the game at a 2-1 score before Fitchburg knocked in a third goal before the half. 
  • The Chargers would come back and make it 3-2 just 2 and a half minutes into the second half on a Coby Youngman (Bath, N.H.) goal marking his second of the season off an assist from Kaden Lewis (Lunenburg, Mass.)
  • The Falcons would score their fourth goal of the game two minutes later by Diego Cardoso Morais. Lewis would make the game 4-3 scoring his 7th goal of the season on a Colin Riley-Perec (Plymouth, Mass.) assist. Fitchburg would net their fifth goal of the game before Lewis would score his second of the game to make the score 5-4.
Inside the Numbers:
  • Vong would score his first collegiate goal, Youngman would score his second goal of the season, while Lewis would score his 7th, and 8th. 
  • The Chargers took 18 shots while landing 11 on target.
  • Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) would pick up 9 saves in the match:

The Chargers return to action on October 11th as the return back home against the Lasell Lasers to finish out conference play with a 12PM kickoff.
