NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped its first conference game of the season 116-56 to Albertus Magnus College Saturday afternoon.

- The Falcons jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead over the Chargers, but sophomore Sean Peterson (Chester, N.H.) made a layup to cut the lead to two points. The Falcons responded and went on a 10-0 run with senior Cha'Mar Martin (Columbia, S.C.) knocking down a pair of free throws to cut the lead to ten points. The Falcons continued to dominate on the offensive end and extended their lead nineteen points with 9:15 left in the opening half. Senior Chaz Cullum (Omaha, Neb.) contributed five points to help trim the Falcons' lead, but the visitors couldn't close the game as the home team took a commanding 55-20 lead heading into halftime.Â
- First-year Brady Rogers (Newfields, N.H.) would open the scoring for the Chargers in the second half by making a driving layup followed by a made free by Martin. The team would trade buckets early in the second half with Cullum hitting back-to-back shots followed by Rogers knocking down a three-pointer. The Falcons would continue to control their attack extending their lead to thirty-eight points late in the half. First-year Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, Va.) would nail a three-pointer and a made free throw to trim the Falcons lead, but the Chargers were unable to cut into the Falcons lead as the home team pulled away and took the 116-60 lead over the Chargers.Â

- Martin recorded 13 points (5-13 FG, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, and two assists while Cullum added nine points (3-8 FG, 3-5 FT) and three rebounds. Blunt chipped in nine points (3-6 FG, 2-5 3 PT, 1-3 FT) and two rebounds and Peterson tallied eight points (3-4 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, and two assists to round out the scoring for the Chargers.Â
- Ta'zhon Daniels added 32 points (11-18 FG, 4-7 3 PT, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, and three assists while Ray Ford Jr. dropped 27 points (11-19 FG, 5-10 3 PT), seven rebounds, and five assists for the Falcons.Â
- The Falcons shot 74.1% from the free throw line and 60% from the field while the Chargers registered 60% from the free throw line and 31.7% from the field.Â
