NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team picked up 2-0 win over powerhouse Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday.

- The first half was a battle in the midfield with several shots and corner kicks by both teams who were unable to find the net. Sophomores Cullen Visscher (Katy, Texas) and Owen Barnwell (Derry, N.H.), and senior Ryan Wilson (Mattapoisett, Mass.) had several scoring opportunities with shots on target. Critical saves by junior goalkeeper Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.), kept the match scoreless at halftime.
- The Monks brought the intensity in the second half with several offensive attacks, but the Charger defense held tough. Visscher and Wilson continued to fire shots on target, but key saves from the Monks kept the match at 0-0. Junior Nick Carrabino (Fair Haven, Vt.) found the back of the net in the 81st minute with an assist from Wilson to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Two minutes later, junior Josh Warner (Barrington, N.H.) added a second goal from the Chargers with an assist from sophomore Judson DiMaria (Acton, Mass.) to solidify the 2-0 win over the Monks.

"It felt great to get a home win as a team today," said junior
Nick Carrabino (Fair Haven, Vt.). "We have battled all season for a result and were able to get one today. Our team is pushing each other every day and we are always striving to better ourselves. It was a combined effort out of everybody today and we were all glad to secure the home win."

- Carrabino scored his first goal of the season, while Warner notched his second goal.
