Chargers Continue Home Cooking in 83-76 Win Over Anna Maria

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball improved to 4-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) at home in 2024 after defeating Anna Maria by a 83-76 final.

Rapid Recap:
  • Junior Chaz Cullum (Omaha, Neb.) started the game with eight of the first 11 points for the Chargers as the home team raced to a 11-2 lead. The AMCATS countered back with a 8-4 run to cut the deficit to five points. Back-to-back threes by Cullum and junior Nick Grant (Houston, Texas) pushed the lead back to 11 points. The teams traded baskets but a jumper by Grant and a three-pointer for first year Sean Peterson (Chester, N.H.) pushed the lead to 15 points with 3:42 to play in the first half. The lead ended at 41-24 as Peterson netted a 30 foot three to end the half.
  • Sophomore Sadiq Abdullahi (Homestead, Fla.) drilled a three to get the lead up to 20 points, but the AMCATS began to chip away with a 12-7 response to trim the deficit to 51-36. After both teams continued to score Anna Maria punched back with a key stretch to cut the lead to just four points with 7:05 to play. Junior Cha'Mar Martin (Columbia, S.C.) and junior Jaisan Parker (Durham, N.C.) kept the Chargers in front with jumpers down the stretch to keep the home team in front. Martin finished off the game with clutch free throws mixed along with a Cullum dunk as Colby-Sawyer won by a 83-76 final.
