BOSTON, Mass.  – The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team fell in their second-straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game on Saturday dropping a contest to Emmanuel by a 75-52 margin. With the loss the Chargers maintain the 10th seed in the GNAC playoff picture with two games to play.

Rapid Recap:

Molettieri continued the hot shooting burying another two from deep before two more layups by junior Courtney Brewster (Castleton, Vt.) cut the Emmanuel lead to just one point. An and-one finish by first year Catherine Chick (Glen, N.H.) gave the Chargers a lead at 16-14, but a jumper by Kiera Eubanks evened the score with a minute to play. Chick ended the quarter strong with a three to cut the Saint lead to 21-19 headed into the second.
  • Junior Gabby Lucertini (Branford, Conn.) kicked off the second quarter with a bucket, but the Saints continued to stay in the lead jumping the lead back to 17 points on a 16-1 run. Junior Marissa Holt (Alfred, Maine) stopped the momentum momentarily with a finish in the lane. Brewster finished the quarter strong for the Chargers netting the last five-points to keep the score at 44-30 into halftime in favor for the home team.
  • Graduate student Lia Raynowska (Brentwood, N.H.) kicked off the second half with a three as the Chargers looked to battle back into the game. Brewster finished back-to-back buckets to cut the Saint lead down to 11 points, but a 8-3 run pushed the lead back to 16 points. Free throws by sophomore Elyza Mitchell (Spofford, N.H.) and first year Larissa Daigle (Fort Kent, Maine) kept the Chargers within 58-46 headed into the final 10 minutes.
  • The Saints started the quarter strong yet again scoring the first 10 points to jump the lead to 22 points. Mitchell stopped the run with two free throws to start a 5-0 spurt, but the Saint closed the game with 7-1 run to win the game by a 75-52 margin.
