NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team came to a 1-1 draw with the Blazers of Elms College Saturday afternoon.

Rapid Recap:
  • The Chargers brought the offensive intensity early in the first half with sophomores Kaden Lewis (Lunenburg, Mass.) and Judson DiMaria (Acton, Mass.) firing shots of their own, but the Blazer's goalkeeper Aidan Berube made key saves to keep the score at 0-0. DiMaria would find the back of the net in the 20th minute to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead. The Blazers would respond with shots of their own, but junior Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) made saves to keep the Chargers ahead. The Blazers would eventually find the back of the net in the 32nd minute to tie the game up at 1-1. The Chargers and Blazers would trade shots back in forth, but neither team was able to find the back of the net as the score remained at 1-1 heading into halftime.
  • The Chargers continued to bring the offensive pressure in the second half with senior Ryan Wilson (Mattapoisett, Mass.), junior Brandon Mejia (West Palm Beach, Fla.), and Lewis all firing shots on target, but Berube stayed tough in net. First-year Matheus Saragosa (Sao Paulo, Brazil), sophomore David Herrera (Miami, Fla.), and sophomore Bradyen Rapoza (New Durham, N.H.) kept the Chargers on the attack, but Berube made keys saves for the Blazers. The Chargers and Blazers would come to a 1-1 draw as the final whistle blew on Saturday afternoon.
