New London, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell against nationally ranked Tufts University Saturday by a 79-50 final.
Rapid Recap:
- Junior Chaz Cullum (Omaha, Nebraska) started the Chargers offense with a fast break lay up before class mate Bullen Taban (Phoenix, Ariz) made a strong post move for two bringing the score to 8-4 in favor of the visitors. The Jumbos would bring defensive pressure and a hot hand from James Morakis to bring them up 19-6 halfway through the first half. Junior Jaisan Parker (Durham, N.C.) brought life into the home team knocking down a treyball off of a feed from Cullum. The two teams would continue to battle defensively forcing turnovers but unable to convert offensively. The Jumbos would finish the half with a made three pointer from Khai Champion to put them up by 20, 40-20.
- First year Sean Peterson (Chester, N.H.) triggered the offense in the second half with a big three pointer in the first possession of the half, Peterson would continue his scoring with a nice post touch off of a feed from Cullum. Casey McLaren would respond for the Jumbos going on a five point run himself to bring the score to 49-25. Halfway through the second half the Jumbos put on the scoring pressure with a dunk from Scott Gyimesi and and lay up from Morakis. Junior Mike Joanou (Burbank, Calif.) would respond with a turnaround baseline jumpshot followed by a second three from Parker to bring the Chargers within 25. The Chargers would continue to battle until the end of the game but came up short with a 79-50 final.

- Parker led the offense with 15 points off of the bench (5-12 FG, 3-6 FT, 2-4 3PT) and an assist. Peterson tabbed his second double-double of the season with 12 point (5-12 FG, 1-2 3PT, 1-1 FT) and 12 rebounds. Cullum rounded out the offense with 9 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 FT) five assists, and four rebounds.
- Morakis led the Jumbos with 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3PT, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, and one assists. Champion followed closely with 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3PT, 2-3 FT) with one rebound and one assist.
