DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Colby-Sawyer baseball team suffered a loss against Knox College during their last game in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational on Friday by a 12-11 final. The Chargers ended the trip going 3-7 after playing 10 non-conference games.

	- The Chargers wasted no time getting runs on the board after first year Finn Maclennan (Ipswich, Mass.) laced a ball down the left field line to score senior Cooper O'Brien (Vergennes, Vt.) and senior Jake Choiniere (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) to make it 2-0. Colby-Sawyer continued to build their led in the bottom of the first inning as first year Mike McLeer tripled to left center scoring another two runs. Sophomore Brady Holmes (West Yarmouth, Mass.) hit a single to right center to bring McLeer home ending the inning ahead 5-0.
- In the bottom of the second inning, first year Devin Montalvo (Coram, N.Y.) earned an RBI with first year Cam Carignan (Rutland, Mass.) scoring home to make it 6-0. The Chargers would extend their advantage to 8-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning off two hits from Carignan and Montalvo.
- After Knox put up their first two runs in the top of the fifth to make it 8-2, the Chargers would respond in the bottom of the sixth by earning two more runs thanks to a double from junior Zach Rogers (Mashpee, Mass.) to put the score at 10-2. In the top of the eighth inning, Knox closed the scoring gap putting up six runs off five hits to make it a 10-8 game.
- Colby-Sawyer added one run in the bottom of the eighth inning after first year Jared Schmitt (Surry, N.H.) got an RBI single to extend their led to 11-8. In the top of the nineth inning, Knox made a comeback scoring four runs off two hits to make it 12-11. The Chargers offense couldn't generate any runs in the bottom of the ninth inning as Knox would earn the win by a 12-11 final.
- First year Dylan Watson (Byfield, Mass.) started at the mound for the Chargers pitching four clean innings to go along with eight strikeouts. First year Rex Hill (Andover, Vt.) tossed one inning two runs off three hits. First year Ethan Clark (Bow, N.H.) threw for two innings allowing one hit a getting a punchout. Sophomore Kam Lovlette (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) made a brief appearance on the mound after allowing two runs and a walk. First year Will Carpenter (Medfield, Mass.) pitched for one inning allowing four runs (three earned) off five hits with one strikeout. Closing for the Chargers was sophomore Kenneth Spratt (Wantagh, N.Y.) who picked up the loss after tossing the final inning and allowing four runs off two hits.  
- McLeer led the Chargers offense going 2-for-3 featuring two triples and earning two RBIs. Montalvo added a 2-for-5 performance with two RBIs and one stolen base. Rogers also earned two RBIs for the Chargers with his 1-for-3 performance including a double.
