AT COLBY-SAWYER
2026: Schmitt expanded his role for the Chargers as a two-way player, contributing in the outfield while also becoming a reliever in the back end of the bullpen. Jared appeared in 25 games with 18 starts at the plate, batting .250 with 12 hits, 11 runs scored, 11 RBIs, three doubles, a triple, two home runs, and three stolen bases. He had a season-best three hits on April 25th against Saint Joseph's College of Maine, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run. Schmitt also drove in two runs against Massachusetts Maritime, WestConn, and Elms. On the mound, Jared made five relief appearances, earning two saves while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings. He picked up saves on April 3rd at Norwich and April 11th against Albertus Magnus, striking out two in a scoreless inning against the Falcons. Defensively, Schmitt recorded 34 putouts and six assists with a .976 fielding percentage.
2025: Schmitt appeared in 23 games for the Chargers, including 22 starts. Jared batted .250 with 15 hits, eight runs scored, 17 RBIs, six doubles, a home run, and eight stolen bases. He had his best performance of the season on April 19th against Albertus Magnus, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a career-high five RBIs. Schmitt also went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on March 28th. He recorded two stolen bases against McDaniel on March 17th and finished the season 8-for-8 on stolen-base attempts. Defensively, Schmitt recorded 42 putouts and two assists with a .936 fielding percentage.
2024: Schmitt continued to be an important piece for the Chargers in his second season starting 35 games while making 37 appearances. Jared ended the year slashing .286/.344/.446 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with five homers, 28 runs scored, 24 RBIs, nine stolen bases and three doubles. Defensively Schmitt shifted to right field with 59 putouts and eight assists with a .944 fielding percentage. Jared's first big game of the season came on March 15th against St. Joseph's (Long Island) going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and a pair of runs scored. Schmitt added his best game of the season April 27th against Rivier going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a RBI.
2023: Schmitt became a star for the Chargers in his first year at Colby-Sawyer starting 16 games and making 21 overall appearances. Jared ended the year with a .444/.531/.667 (AVG/OBP/SLG) slash line with two homers, 15 RBI, 20 runs scored, six doubles and 11 stolen bases. Schmitt launched his first collegiate home run on March 11th against Medaille University going 2-for-2 with a homer, three runs scored, a walk and a stolen base. Jared followed it up with a 2-for-2 game the next day against the University of Maine - Presque Isle with a home run, double, a career-best five RBI and a run scored. Schmitt's best conference game came on April 22nd at Saint Joseph's College of Maine going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Jared was later named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Rookie Team as well as being named a GNAC Rookie of the Week in week number two and was also the Division III Third Baseman of the Week.
