Chargers Fall Against Regis 5-2

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team fell Monday evening to Regis by a score of 5-2.

Rapid Recap:
  • Regis began the first half looking to score right out of the gate, firing shots at first year keeper Alex Gomez-Adudelo (Mesquite, Texas) who kept his composure to put together four saves. In the 25th minute the Pride broke the scoring barrier with a header from Lavini-Ayalla off of a Frias corner. Two minutes later an own goal would set the Pride up 2-0. The Pride would maintain momentum throughout the rest of the half.
  • The Pride would continue their dominance only five minutes into the second half with a shot and score from Arguelles, who would put the home team up 3-0. Shortly after Arguelles would notch his second consecutive goal off of a Lavini-Ayalla through ball to increase the lead to 4-0. The Chargers would respond as first year Brayden Rapoza (New Durham, N.H.) ripped a shot and score two mintues later to collect the first Charger point of the evening. The momentum would fail to turn in the Chargers favor as a Park score would put the Pride up 5-1 with 23 minutes left to play. First year Cullen Visscher (Katy, Texas) would look to find the back of the next attempted to sneak a low shot past the keeper but Weidemann would save the shot. A Chargers free kick in the 85th minute from junior Ryan Wilson (Mattapoisett, Mass.) would set first year Kaden Lewis (Lunenburg, Mass.) up for a header goal to bring the final score to 5-2.
