FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to Dean College by a 77-59 final.

- The Bulldogs jumped ahead 4-0, before the Chargers had a quick response with five-straight capped by a three by senior Omar Boone (Colorado City, Texas). The teams traded baskets with Boone continuing to excel with another finish before sophomore Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) got a finish from Boone to keep the Chargers in front 11-8. Colby-Sawyer kept a three point lead until Dean College countered with a 8-0 run, which was eventually stopped by senior Zack Caraballo (Salem, N.H.). Another triple by Cummings put the visitors back in front by a single point, but another 8-0 advantage from Dean gave the home team a 27-19 lead. The lead continued to grow for the Bulldogs reaching as much as 14 points, but a pair of shots from the charity stripe by Caraballo trimmed the lead to 38-26 headed to the break.
- In the second half the Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders jumping the lead to 55-30 with 13:47 left in the contest. The Chargers tried to battle back with an 8-0 run sparked by six points by Boone. Back-to-back three-pointers by Boone and a pair of layups by Caraballo and Cummings cut the deficit to 57-48 with 7:51 left in the ball game. First year Sadiq Abdullahi (Homestead, Fla.) finished another layup with 5:28 remaining, but Dean responded with a big three-pointer to halt the momentum of the visitors. A key point in the game came at 4:22 as Boone fouled out with the Chargers trailing 65-55 and the Bulldogs would regain the control going on a closing 12-4 run to hold on to the 77-59 win.
Notes & Notables:
- Boone continues to shine in his senior season dropping 20 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3-FG, 3-4 FT) to go with 11 rebounds and a block in just 23 minutes. Cummings also had a solid night with 13 points (6-15 FG, 1-7 3-FG) and eight boards. Caraballo added 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3-FG, 2-2 FT) and a pair of steals.
- Jakobi Greenleaf paced the Bulldogs with 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, five steals and four blocks.
- Dean College thrived causing pressure forcing 16 Chargers turnovers and scoring 24 points off them while Colby-Sawyer forced only 14 turnovers while getting nine points from them. The Bulldogs also used a 52-32 points in the paint advantage to their favor in the home win.
