NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest to Lasell University by a 72-65 final in overtime.

- The Chargers and Lasers traded buckets in the beginning with Lasell taking an early 5-2 advantage. Colby-Sawyer woke up as senior Omar Boone (Colorado City, Texas) delivered a posterizing jam on a feed from senior Conor Kelly (Charlestown, Mass.) to put the Chargers back in front 6-5. After Lasell took the lead back the Chargers final strung a couple buckets to hold a 18-12 lead with 9:17 remaining in the first. The Chargers grew the lead to 24-17 after shots at the charity stripe by senior Zack Caraballo (Salem, N.H.) and sophomore Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) followed by a jumper by first year Sadiq Abdullahi (Homestead, Fla.). Lasell came back with eight-straight points to take the advantage but back-to-back buckets by Boone gave the Chargers a 30-28 lead headed into the break.
- The teams traded buckets out of the break with both teams knotted up at 36-36 with 14:23 left. The Lasers took control jumping ahead 45-40, but a 10-4 counter by the Chargers put home team back in front after six-consecutive points from Cummings. The Chargers continued to lead after a finish by senior Scott Lampron (Concord, N.H.) and a free throw by Kelly, but another spurt by the Lasers put the visitors in front by 58-55 margin with 2:06 remaining. The Chargers went to Boone who knocked down a three before the go ahead bucket, but EJ Day flashed to the basket to tie up the game as time expired.
- In the extra time Colby-Sawyer took an early lead on a pair of free throws by Lampron, but the Lasers responded with a 10-1 run to push the lead to 70-63 with under a minute to play. The Chargers got a pair of free throws, but Lasell held on for the win.
Notes & Notables:
- Boone had another big game with 22 points (10-21 FG, 1-6 3-FG, 1-2 FT) to go with eight rebounds before fouling out in the overtime period. Senior Terrence Harvey Jr. (Atlanta, Ga.) played every minute of the game scoring 11 points (4-12 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 2-4 FT) to go with four steals, four rebounds and three assists. Lampron tallied 12 points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3-FG, 4-5 FT) and six rebounds to round out the double-digit scorers.
- EJ Day paced the Lasers with 27 points (8-25 FG, 4-11 3-FG, 7-7 FT) 10 rebounds and four assists.
