Dao's Game-Winning Try Highlights Three 7's Matches at Castleton University

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Colby-Sawyer women's rugby team debuted in 2022 with three 7's matches on Sunday against Castleton University.

RAPID RECAP MATCH 1 (Castleton Wins 19-5):

The Spartans jumped ahead 12-0 with a pair of tries and scoring one of two conversions. Senior Tori MacLeod (Franklin, Mass.) answered with a try for the Chargers at 6:15 of the first half. Castleton added another try and conversion in the second half to pick up the 19-5 win.

RAPID RECAP MATCH 2 (Castleton Wins 17-5):

Castleton continued to control the play in the second match scoring the first 17 points before junior Grace McLaughlin (Brownfield, Maine) got across the end-line for the lone Charger try in the second match.

RAPID RECAP MATCH 3 (Colby-Sawyer Wins 12-10):

Colby-Sawyer had a bounce back performance in the third match getting two tries and a conversion. Senior Celina Dao (Portland, Ore.) pulled out the game-winning try at the dead. MacLeod also nailed the first conversion of the season.
