NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer Chargers won their second-straight match in a row defeating the Northern Vermont University - Johnson Badgers by a 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21) final.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers started off the first set on fire as senior Orlando Plagata (Los Angeles, Calif.) opened the match with a quick kill, followed by a service ace by first year Andreas Bump (St. Thomas, Virgin Islands) and then finished by a kill by first year Christopher Huynh (Methuen, Mass.) for a quick 3-0 start. The Chargers grew the lead later in the set with a four point run highlighted by three assists by first year Lucas Lizotte (Hampstead, N.H.) to give the home team a 11-6 lead. The Badgers battled back knotting the set at 22-22, but the Chargers finished home the set with a 3-1 run including an ending kill by senior Eric Miller (La Grange, Ill.).
- The second set started with both clubs trading points, but the Badgers stormed ahead using a 7-0 spurt to lead 9-3. The Chargers slowly climbed back into the contest going on a late 4-0 run to get the game within 19-18 highlighted by a Huynh ace. The Badgers closed it out with a 6-2 run to take the lone set from the home team.
- After a service ace from the visitors the Chargers took advantage of the third set leading 4-2 early thanks to another kill by Plagata. Another 4-0 tilt highlight by a pair of kills by first year Isaac Davies (Hinesburg, Vt.) gave Colby-Sawyer a 9-4 lead. The advantage continued to grow as the Chargers used a 7-0 advantage with three more kills from Plagata to take control 19-11. Plagata added a pair of aces as the Chargers closed out set three by a 25-21 final.
- In the fourth set both teams went back and forth with both team trading 14 straight points. The Chargers were clutch late as the game was even at 21-21 before the Chargers ended the game on a 4-0 run highlighted by two clutch kills from Plagata.

Notes & Notables:
- Plagata led the Charger attack with 14 kills to go along with three service aces and 13 digs. Huynh followed with 11 kills, three service aces and six digs. Miller added eight kills and 11 digs.
- Lizotte had himself a night with 38 assists to with six digs and a kill.
- Zachary Anderson led the Badgers with 19 kills and five service aces.
