BOSTON, MASS. – The Colby-Sawyer men and women track and field team competed in the 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Indoor Championship collecting 69 total personal records and four broken school records.
RESULTS
OVERVIEW:
Coming from dead last the year before, the Colby-Sawyer men's team took the number two spot behind Suffolk University and the women came in fourth. The four remaining teams to participate in the 2022 championship included Emmanuel College, Regis College, St. Joseph's College of Maine, and Lasell University.
MEN'S:
Receiving an event victory was senior
Alex Kusnarowis, who threw for 12.97 meters in the shot-put event. Kusnarowis defeated his previous record by .56 meters.
The team of
Dean Miller,
Chase Adams,
Hayden Goyette, and
Jordan Kofos broke the school record in the 4 x 400 relay race, finishing with a time of 3:36.92.
Sophomore
Chase Adams joined the list of new personal records with two, one in the 200-meter dash and then again in the 60-meter hurdles. Adams completed the 200 with a time of 24.31 and earned a second-place spot on the podium during the 60-meter hurdles finishing in 9.10 seconds, breaking the school record also set by Adams by .12 seconds.
During the 60-meter dash preliminaries, junior captain
Dean Miller collected a new personal record of 7.38, defeating his previous record by .03. Then, in the finals, Miller finished fourth with a finishing time of 7.35, running .03 of a second faster once again. Miller crossed the line with a podium spot during the 200 dash, also receiving a new personal record with a time of 23.38.
First-year
Jordan Kofos followed behind his junior captain, claiming the number four spot in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.53. The rookie ran over a minute faster than his previous time earning himself a new personal record. Additionally, Kofos also pr'd in the 60-meter dash with a final time of 7.37.
Also getting up on the podium was first-year
Dylan Flewelling, who earned the number three spot in the 5000-meter race. Flewelling received a new personal record during the mile with a new final time of 4:47.29.
In the pole vault event, three Chargers took the top three spots with
Drew Doughty coming in first and collecting his fourth personal record (HJ, PV, LJ, AND TJ).
Bryce Carlson followed behind with a 2.80 and
Connor Molkenthin with a new personal record of 2.50 meters.

First-year
Jonathan Platti collected three new personal records in the 60-meter, 400, and high jump.
Hayden Goyette crushed his previous record in the 800-meter race with a final time of 2:09.31. Senior
Brendan Sullivan received two personal records in the 3000-meter race and then again at the 5000-meter race.
First-year
Martin Steucek pr'd in the 800 event with a time of 2:21.37 and then in the mile with a time of 5:05.40. Fellow first-year
Haven Deschenes also pr'd in the 3000- and 5000-meter races. Junior
Tristan McNight collected a personal record in the 5000 with a time of 18:34.76. Finally, sophomore
Jordan Piechowski collected a personal record in the 800-meter race.
WOMEN'S:
Taking an individual win and breaking the school record in the 5000-meter finals was first-year
Samantha Carus who finished with a time of 18:49.01. Carus cut her time by an estimated five seconds to collect her first of two personal records. Following the rookie was
Shannon O'Connell in second and
Tessa Millette in third. During the mile, Carus finished fifth receiving a personal record time of 5:46.73.
Junior
Laurel Blackman finished in first place in her pole-vaulting event with a height of 2.90 meters. Blackman collected two personal records in the 60-meter hurdles, ad the high jump event.
In the 400-meter final,
Bridget O'Connell got on the podium in the number three spot with a new personal record time of 1:05.43. O'Connell also pr'd in the long jump event with a distance of 4.14 meters.
Sophomore
Ashley Keleher claimed the title for breaking the school record in the 60-meter finals with a time of 8.55.
Highschool teammates
Heather Hanson and
Grace Walsh secured the number two and three spots in the 800-meter final. Both Hanson and Walsh recorded personal records.
OTHER PR'S!
Dual-sport athlete
Kara Keiper received three personal records with one coming from each the 60-meter, 200 meter and the long jump. Soccer teammates
Hannah Himes and Abagayle Hamelin also collected two personal records each.
Hannah Brown finished the 400 in 1:15.31 to earn a new personal record.
Sophomore
Anna Bieszczad tallied three personal records in the 200-meter dash, the triple jump and the weight throw as well.
Quinn Aldrich finished 12
th with a new time of 23:3774.
Morgan Fleischer completed the 60-meter hurdles in 12.08 seconds for a personal record of her own. Former 2021 Field Hockey player
Calie Sorenson pr'd in the high jump event with a height of 1.26 meters.
