MEN'S INDOOR TRACK FINISHES FIFTH AT GNAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

BOSTON, MASS. - The Colby-Sawyer Men's Indoor Track team headed to Boston to compete at the GNAC Championships Sunday afternoon in the Track and Tennis Center of Boston University.

Rapid Recap:
  • Brady Curley (Hillsborough, N.H.) had himself a day for the Chargers in both the 60m and 200m. Curley would qualify for the 60m dash finals in second before finishing as the GNAC 60m dash champion in the finals with a time of 7.17. Mason Sayers (Lanesborough, Mass.) would also qualify for the finals, and put points on the board for the Chargers as he would finish fourth overall in the 60m with a time of 7.30. Brady would come back to medal in the 200m with a third place finish with a time of 23.08.
  • The Chargers would see another gold medalist in First Year Joseph Pasco in pole vault. Pasco would secure the win with a 4.00m jump that produced another 10 points for the team.
  •  Matt Gaudioso (Branford, Conn.) would also help the Chargers in the field events as he would finish with the silver in weight throw. His throw of 12.43m would help the team secure another 8 points. Gaudioso would come back in the shot put with a toss of 11.06m, just missing the podium by .12 but still securing 4 more points for the Chargers. 
  • Evan Vitagliano (Groton, Conn.) found himself on the podium for the Chargers as well in the 800m. Evan's time of 2:02.18 is a season best, helping the Chargers add 6 points to the teams total. Vitagliano would help the team add two more points in the mile where he would finish fifth overall. 
  • Peyton Meuse (Newport, N.H.) would finish fifth for the 5000m, securing two points for the teams total. Meuse, and twin brother Ashton would team up with Vitagliano and Connor Brogan to compile a distance medley relay team that would finish fourth, earning the teams overall score four more points. 
Inside the Numbers:
  • The Chargers finished with would finish with four members on the podium, with each of those four earning All-Conference recognitions in their respective events. Curley (60m, 200m), Pasco (Pole Vault), Gaudioso (Weight Throw), and Vitagliano (800m)
  • The Chargers would finish fifth overall as a team with a total of 59.50 points.
Up Next:
The Chargers will now head into the indoor postseason where some athletes gear up for the D-III New England Championships while others recover to prepare for the outdoor season.
