NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team came up short, 1-0, in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) battle against Johnson & Wales University on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers drop to a 2-5-2 conference record with the loss.

- The Wildcats controlled possession in the first half forcing first year Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) to make two early saves in the match. Johnson & Wales created several goal scoring opportunities in the half, but Colby-Sawyer battled defensively to keep the Wildcats at bay. Sophomore Jadon Baros (Colorado Springs, Colo.) got a shot off in the 44th minute but Wildcats goalkeeper Jacob Friedman made the save to keep the score tied at 0-0 heading to halftime.
- In the second half, the Chargers stared to gain momentum in their attack as sophomore Ryan Wilson (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and senior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England) each got a shot apiece on target. As the match progressed, tension grew between the Chargers and Wildcats with the score deadlocked at 0-0. In the 79th minute, Nolan Sooy broke the goal drought to give Johnson & Wales the 1-0 advantage. Although the Chargers continued to battle until the very end, the Wildcats would take the win with the 1-0 final at Kelsey Soccer Field.

- On the offensive side for the Chargers, Buchanan recorded two shots in the match with Wilson and Baros each finishing the day with a shot on target.
- Bartolon ended the day with six saves after ninety minutes in net for the Chargers.
- The Chargers were outshot by the Wildcats 13-4 and held the 7-3 lead in shots on target.
