PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell in their return to action on Thursday falling to Johnson & Wales by a 78-63 final.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers attacked out of the gate starting the game with a 17-6 lead following triples by junior Deonte Flowers (Sumter, S.C.) and first year Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.).
- The Wildcats answered with a quick 9-0 run and eventually knotted up the Chargers at 26-26 heading into the break.
- The second half belonged to the home team starting on a 12-5 run and securing the lead and not giving it back the rest of the way.
- A late three by Cummings had the game to within eight points, but the Wildcats held on and pushed the game to 78-63 final.
Notes & Notables:
- Flowers had his best game as a Charger scoring a season-high 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-6 3-PT), while also getting a pair of assists.
- Cummings poured in a team-high 17 points (6-17 FG, 5-12 3-PT) off the bench.
- Junior Omar Boone (Colorado City, Texas) & junior Terrence Harvey Jr (Smyrna, Ga.) each netted 10 points and seven rebound a piece.
- Josh Zangerle led the Wildcats scoring 20 points, with eight rebounds.
