NEWTON, Mass. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team dropped its fifth-straight road game with a 78-48 loss to Lasell University on Saturday.
Rapid Recap:
- The Lasers jumped out the gate with 18-straight points, stopped by a first year Dylan Santosuosso (Pelham, N.H.) bucket in the paint.
- Santosuosso continued his great start scoring the first eight points for the Chargers and bring the deficit to 20-8.
- An 8-4 run sparked by a first year Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) dunk to close the first half helped the Chargers only trail by 15 at the midway point.
- Colby-Sawyer continued the momentum in the second half going on a quick 7-2 run trimming the Lasell lead to 39-29 highlighted by a Cummings three.
- The Lasers answered in a big way going on a 15-2 run and pushing the lead to 23 with 12:23 on the clock. Lasell would hold control of the game the rest of the way to secure the victory.
Notes & Notables:
- Santosuosso had his best game of his collegiate career scoring a career-high 14 points (7-8 FG) to go along with three steals and a pair of boards.
- Senior Deondre Smith (Garland, Texas) tallied 16 points (5-14 FG, 0-2 3-PT, 6-8 FT), while junior Zack Caraballo (Salem, N.H.) added four points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3-PT) and six rebounds.
- EJ Day led the Lasers registering 18 points and four steals.
