Kelly's 20-and-10 Night Lead Chargers Past Bulldogs 72-70

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Chargers picked up their second-straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win with a 72-70 over Dean College.

Rapid Recap:
  • Colby-Sawyer started off on a cold streak missing their first eight shots as the Bulldogs took a 12-0 advantage.
  • A Charger surge followed scoring 11 of the next 16 points kick started by a junior Zack Caraballo (Salem, N.H.) layup followed by an assist to a junior Scott Lampron (Concord, N.H.) three.
  • The lead jumped back to 14 points for the Bulldogs, before a 14-4 run sparked by 11 points by junior Conor Kelly (Charlestown, Mass.).
  • The Chargers took their first lead at the 15:19 mark of the second half after a Kelly free throw, before back and forth action saw the game knotted at 63-63 with 3:21 remaining in the contest.
  • First year Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) put the home team on top for the remainder of the contest drilling back-to-back threes to get the Chargers rolling late. A pair of clutch free throws by Kelly iced it and gave the Chargers the big victory.
Player Spotlight:

"You know we just gotta play hard one-hundred percent", said Conor Kelly. "We let up a little bit at the beginning, but we kept fighting, came back and won two very close games. I'm so glad we got the win today."
