New London, N.H. – Colby-Sawyer field hockey earned its second shut-out of the season on Wednesday, defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Simmons University, 2-0. The Chargers improved to 7-1 overall and improved their undefeated conference record to 4-0.

Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers opened the first quarter with back-to-back shots by freshman Courtney Larson (Auburn, ME) and graduate student Julia Lanctot (Sandown, N.H.) within the first minute of the match. The Chargers out-shot the Sharks 7-0 in the first quarter.
- A penalty corner by junior Bella Silva (Danvers, Mass.) started another set of back-to-back shots by Larson and Lanctot that did not find the net. The Sharks first and only shot of the match came in the 13th minute of the second quarter, but it was collected by junior keeper Lauren Wilkinson (Lynn, Mass.).
- Less than five minutes into the third quarter, a penalty corner taken by Silva initiated an opportunity for the Chargers to score. Junior Aoife Daly (Harwich, Mass.) seized the opportunity, sneaking in a goal past the Simmons keeper. The Chargers took a 1-0 lead into the fourth.
- Looking for an insurance goal, sophomore Aleah Murph (Portland, ME) recorded her second assist of the season, providing a through ball first found Daly and then the back of the net. The Chargers continued the pressure in their offensive half for the remainder of the frame.
