WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second week in a row, Colby-Sawyer field hockey junior
Aoife Daly (Harwich, Mass.) was awarded Player of the Week from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) after her performances in Colby-Sawyer's two victories over Keene State College and Johnson & Wales University.
Against Keene, Daly scored two goals, including the game winner in overtime. Her two goals pushed the Chargers to their first win over Keene State in school history. Against Johnson & Wales she also scored a goal to help Colby-Sawyer win its second GNAC game of the season.
With the two wins this week, the Charger field hockey team is off to their best start in program history. Daly has been a massive part of the historic start. In four games, she has scored seven goals on 27 shots. The Harwich native also has four game-winning scores to her credit.
The Chargers are set to play at New England College on Wednesday, Sept. 15 and then come back home to face Simmons College on Saturday, Sept. 18 at noon.
