KEENE, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team picked up their first loss of the 2021-22 campaign falling by a 85-60 final to a energized Keene State College in their home opener.
Rapid Recap:
- Opening minutes success continued for the Chargers jumping ahead 8-2 including six strong points by junior Omar Boone (Colorado City, TX).
- With the game knotted at 16 the Owls stormed ahead with a 12-0 run to take control of the pace of the game.
- Keene State used multiple small runs to end the first half up by a 42-25 margin.
- Another 7-2 run to start the second half trimmed the lead to 14 and following a pair of triples by first year Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) the lead was cut to eight with just over 16 minutes left to go.
- A 10-0 push by the home team kept the game out of reach, before the Owls closed out the game on a 20-10 run over the last eight minutes of play to finish off the Chargers.
Notes & Notables:
- Junior Scott Lampron (Concord, N.H.) led Colby-Sawyer with 14 points (5-9 FG, 3-3 3-PT, 1-2 FT), while hitting all three of his three-pointers.
- Boone registered 11 points (3-11 FG, 1-4 3-PT, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, two steals and a block. Cummings rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-8 3-PT), five rebounds and a block.
- Mason Jean-Baptiste led the way for the Owls with 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
