NEW LONDON, N.H. – Director of Athletics Mitch Capelle announced the hiring of Michael Waszeciak as the next Sports Information Director at Colby-Sawyer College on Thursday. Waszeciak will oversee the athletic communication efforts for all 23 of the Chargers NCAA Division III varsity athletic programs.
 
"Michael brings an undeniable energy and passion for the athletic communications craft," said Capelle. "We are looking forward to the many ways his talents will help us tell the story of all the great things Colby-Sawyer student-athletes do in the classroom and on the playing surfaces."
 
Waszeciak arrives at Colby-Sawyer following two years as the Sports Information Director at NHTI—Concord's Community College in nearby Concord, N.H. At NHTI, he served as the primary sports information contact for 12 sports. He grew the Lynx social media presence on Instagram and YouTube and increased engagement on Facebook. Waszeciak maintained the athletics website with schedules, recaps, and department news while recording statistics at all home contests.
 
Prior to NHTI, Waszeciak served as an athletic communications intern for three semesters at Southern New Hampshire University. He helped the Penmen Athletic Communications office in numerous roles, assisting with live statistics, play-by-play broadcasting, and the production of live video broadcasts on the NE10 NOW Network.
 
Waszeciak, a Manchester, N.H. native, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2019.
