Women's Volleyball Splits in Maine

STANDISH, Maine - September 21, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team split a pair of matches in Maine on Saturday. The Chargers were outlasted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine 3-2 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) battle, but ended the day with a 3-0 victory over Husson. 

Colby-Sawyer is now 8-8 overall and 1-1 in the GNAC. The Chargers play at New England College on Thursday. Saint Joseph's is 2-11, while Husson is 3-12. 

SAINT JOSEPH'S 3, COLBY-SAWYER 2 - 25-14, 24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 16-14

Rebecca Straubel led the Colby-Sawyer attack with a match high 15 kills. Naarah Cox registered 11 kills and three blocks. Morgan Flynn picked up a match best 24 digs, while Anna Allen finished with 39 assists and 15 digs. 

Sam Mohammed was third on the team with seven kills, while Olivia Werner added six. 

COLBY-SAWYER 3, HUSSON 0 - 25-13, 25-21, 26-24

Rebecca Straubel continued her great day with another impressive match. She led the team once again with 13 kills. She added nine digs and a pair of aces. Anna Allen added another double-double with 24 assists and 12 digs, while Olivia Werner chipped in seven kills. 

Maeve Powell also posted seven kills and hit .500. 

Morgan Flynn added 15 digs to move into seventh on the all-time digs list with 1229. Meghan Flynn picked up nine digs.
