NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 21, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout over Regis in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 2-3-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Chargers host non-conference foe Plymouth State on Wednesday. Regis drops to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the GNAC. The Pride play at Dean on Wednesday.
In a match that saw each team have multiple scoring chances, Colby-Sawyer came through in the 54th minute. Sophomore
Mason Galbato (North Easton, Mass.) crossed a ball to junior
Ahamad Raji (Lagos, Nigeria) who used his body to deflect the ball past the keeper and into the net.
Both goalies were tested today and each performed well, keeping their respective sides in the match.

Lucas Boetsch (Rockport, Maine) earned the shutout with seven saves. Regis goalie Ivan Ramirez (San Juan, Puerto Rico) had four saves in the loss.
Regis outshot Colby-Sawyer 13-9 and had a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
