PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - August 30, 2019 - Senior
Morgan Flynn became the 12th Charger to reach 1000 career digs during the first match of tonight's Best Western Plus-Ground Round Cardinal Classic hosted by Plattsburgh State.
The Chargers began the evening with a 3-1 triumph over Hartwick by scores of 25-22, 15-25, 26-24 and 27-25. Colby-Sawyer then fell to Plymouth State 3-0 by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25,22.
Colby-Sawyer plays tournament host Plattsburgh State at 11 a.m. tomorrow, followed by Sage at 1 p.m.
COLBY-SAWYER 3, HARTWICK 1
Flynn finished the match with 25 digs to give her 1021 and move into 10th on the all-time list.
Naarah Cox led the team on both sides of the net with 15 kills on .323 hitting and eight blocks. She had one solo and seven assists to move into ninth on the all-time block assists list with 154.
Sam Mohammed contributed nine kills and 11 digs, while
Rebecca Straubel added 14 digs and six kills.
Riley Codman was also a force at the net with six block assists and one solo.
Anna Allen finished with 30 assists and 13 digs.
PLYMOUTH STATE 3, COLBY-SAWYER 0
Naarah Cox led the team with seven more kills and a pair of block assists to her evening total. She moved into eighth in career block assists with 156.
Rebecca Straubel and
Sam Mohammed added five kills apiece.
Olivia Werner saw her first collegiate action and hit .429 for three kills on seven attempts.
Anna Allen registered 20 assists, seven digs and a pair of block assists.
