STANDISH, Maine – February 16, 2019 - In a non-conference contest, the Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 100-84, in a regular season finale for both teams.
The Monks improve to 18-7, while Colby-Sawyer drops to 13-12. Saint Joseph's will play at Johnson & Wales University in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, while Colby-Sawyer will travel to Emmanuel also on Tuesday.
Saint Joseph's was led by Darian Berry's game-high 22 points. Sophomore Jack Casale recorded a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jack Hostetler added 18 points, while Ian Mileikis contributed 15 points.

Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) notched his 11th double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds. He made 7-of-8 from the free throw line to move into 9th all-time with 264 makes. Sophomore
Jake Carrier (Manchester, N.H.) added 14 points, while senior
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) chipped in with 13 points, five boards, and two assists. Junior
Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) scored 12 points and first-year Terrence Harvey, Jr. (Smyrna, Ga.) rounded out the double digit scorers with 10 points.
The Monks opened the contest with a 10-2 run and held a 17-5 cushion after Mileikis made a layup with 13:25 left in the first half. The Chargers chipped away at the deficit and cut the hosts' lead to 25-22 five minutes later, but the Monks used a 17-3 offensive surge to create separation and lead 42-25 with less than six minutes to play in the half. THe home team led 52-35 at the half.
The second half was played more evenly as the Chargers held a 49-48 edge on the scoreboard, but the strong first half gave Saint Joseph's the 100-84 victory.
