PROVIDENCE, R.I. - November 2, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2019 regular season with a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match hosted by Johnson & Wales University. The Chargers fell to 23rd nationally ranked JWU 3-0 and came back for a 3-2 triumph over Norwich.Â
Colby-Sawyer goes to 17-17 overall and 7-5 in conference play. The Chargers will compete in the GNAC Tournament on Tuesday at an opponent to be determined later this evening.
#23 JOHNSON & WALES 3, COLBY-SAWYER 0 - 25-13, 25-16, 25-16
Naarah Cox paced the Chargers with an impressive match-high of 16 kills on .400 hitting.
Anna Allen finished with 26 assists, while
Morgan Flynn picked up a team best 12 digs.
Olivia Werner chipped in four kills and a pair of block assists.Â
Kate Walker hit .609 to lead JWU with 15 kills. Brylee Frank registered 31 assists and eight digs. Elyssa Nicolas had a team best 11 digs.Â
COLBY-SAWYER 3, NORWICH 2 - 22-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-7
Naarah Cox continued her impressive day with 18 kills and five blocks to lead the Chargers.
Sam Mohammed was second on the team with 12 kills and 12 digs.
Rebecca Straubel contributed nine kills, 12 digs and six aces.
Anna Allen added 42 assists and 11 digs.
Morgan Flynn recorded 29 digs.Â
The Cadets received a match best 20 kills from Kathryn Farnum, while Michele Zummo finished with 17. Brianna Dawson tallied 19 digs, while Sarah Farnum collected 41 assists.Â
