DARTMOUTH, Mass. - September 27, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 non-league victory at UMass Dartmouth on Thursday evening. The Chargers won by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-21.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 9-7 and will play a tri-match at host Suffolk and Massachusetts Maritime that begins at 11:00 am. UMass Dartmouth falls to 5-8 and will host the University of New England on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Junior
Rebecca Straubel (Altamont, N.Y.) recorded eight kills, 13 digs and a pair of service aces to lead the Chargers. Junior
Naarah Cox (Boston, Mass.) added seven kills. First-year
Maddie Bromley (Truckee, Calif.) collected five kills, 11 digs and four block assists. First-year
Anna Allen (Los Angeles, Calif.) posted 21 assists, 11 digs and four aces. First-year
Charlotte Frivoll (Essex Junction, Vt.) tallied a match best 16 digs.
Junior Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) notched eight kills and 11 digs for the Corsairs. Senior Amanda LaCroix (East Freetown, Mass.) registered five kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Riley Thomas (Fairhaven, Mass.) chipped in with 14 assists and five digs, while junior Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.) posted nine digs, including the 1,000th of her career, in the contest.
