BOSTON, Mass. - September 29, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team won both of its matches at Saturday's tri-match hosted by Suffolk University.
The Chargers earned the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over the host Rams, 3-1, by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-16. Colby-Sawyer then cruised to a 3-0 non-conference win over Mass. Maritime by scores of 25-11, 25-20 and 25-17. The Chargers improved to 11-7 overall and 3-2 in the GNAC. The team will play a GNAC contest on Wednesday at Regis.
COLBY-SAWYER 3, SUFFOLK 1
Courtney Murray posted a double-double of 10 kills and 11 digs.
Naarah Cox also finished with 10 kills and added seven block assists, which ties for the fourth most in a match. She would add another block assist in the second match to finish the day with 122 career assists to move into 10th on the all-time list.
Morgan Flynn recorded match-highs of 22 digs and five service aces.
Anna Allen registered 27 assists.
COLBY-SAWYER 3, MASS MARITIME 0
Maddie Conroy led all players with nine kills on .296 hitting. She also collected nine digs.
Bre Sheehan added five kills and six digs.
Sam Mohammed finished with four kills on .667 hitting and four service aces.
Brook-Lynne Marcotte recorded a match best 12 digs.
Ellie Dupre ran the offense and finished with 28 assists.
