Men's Soccer Edged by Emmanuel, 3-2

BOSTON, Mass. - September 13, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team was edged at Emmanuel, 3-2, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action under the lights on Thursday evening. 

The Chargers drop to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in the GNAC. The Chargers are off until a road match at Johnson & Wales next Wednesday. Emmanuel improves to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference action. 

Emmanuel got on the board first in the seventh minute when Kyle King fed Robert Danielian.

Senior Matt Schiller found the equalizer in the 13th minute with an unassisted tally. 

Danielian and King connected once more before the end of the first to give the home team a 2-1 lead at the break. 

Freshman Ethan Sweet brought Colby-Sawyer even in the 58th minute with his second goal in as many matches.

In the 71st minute, Jack Barbour notched his first goal of the season when he finished an assist from Thomas Skrelja to lift Emmanuel to the 3-2 victory. 

Emmanuel keeper Jonathan Ferrarini earned the win with five saves, while Shane Sacks finished with three saves in the loss. 

The Saints held a slim 9-7 edge in shots, while Colby-Sawyer had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
