NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 11, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match to Saint Anselm of Division II on Wednesday evening. 

The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday with a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) match at Lyndon before traveling to Middlebury on Sunday. Saint Anselm, which played in the Northeast-10 Conference, travels to Regis next Tuesday to conclude the 2018 season. 

Colby-Sawyer took two of three doubles, but the Hawks came back to win the match by taking five of the six singles contests. 

Gustav Jigrup and Nick Mathieu combined for an 8-3 triumph over Kyle Harris and Eric Howes at the top doubles flight, while Andrew Peloquin and Alex Wright earned an 8-4 victory over Benji Page and Daniel Kmetz at No. 3. Saint Anselm's No. 2 duo of Brian Kavanagh and Adam Weinstein defeated Matt Burke and Cam Lynch, 8-4. 

The Chargers' top two players did not compete in singles action resulting in everyone moving up a spot. Alex Wright came away with the team's lone singles win with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the top flight over Howes.

Weinstein edged Burke at No. 2 in three sets, while Kavanagh also was able to escape with a three-set win over Peloqiun at the third flight to give Saint Anselm two more points. The Hawks also won at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 in straight sets.
