NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 14, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team swept Lyndon, 9-0, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-9 overall and 2-0 in the NAC. The Chargers will play at Middlebury on Sunday. Lyndon drops to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in conference play. The Hornets host Johnson on Wednesday.
Matt Burke (Milford, Conn.) and
Cam Lynch (Haverhill, Mass.) defeated Jake LaCerda (Gray, Maine) and Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, Vt.) 8-4 at the top doubles spot.
Andrew Peloquin (Greenville, R.I.) and
Alex Wright (St. Austell, Cornwall, England) at No. 2 and
Erik Antonacci (Bolton, Vt.) and
Matt Williamson (Brookline, N.H.) at No. 3 won their matches by an 8-0 score.
At the top singles flight, Colby-Sawyer's
Alex Wright earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over LaCerda.
Burke defeated Mulligan 6-2, 6-2 at the second flight.
Peloquin won his No. 3 match, dropping just one game, while Lynch went 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4.
Ross Kenney (Hampton Falls, N.H.) and
Mike White (Woburn, Mass.) won the fifth and sixth singles matches 8-0.
