WATERVILLE, Maine - December 1, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell at Colby College, 92-68, in non-league action Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 3-2 and will look to rebound on Tuesday at home against Norwich. The Mules improve to 6-1.
Alex Dorion was 6-for-8 from 3-point range for 20 points and teammate Wallace Tucker scored 19 points to lead Colby. Tucker added seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Matt Hanna chipped in 14 points and six rebounds.
Colby-Sawyer was led by first-year
Nick Backer who came off the bench and had 13 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Dana Bean had early foul trouble and played just 14 minutes, but was 6-for-7 from the field for 12 points.
Jourdain Bell had five assists, three steals, and six points.
Nate Trevino was 3-for-3 from the field for six points and had a game-high nine rebounds.
After the Chargers held an early 10-9 lead, the home team used strong three-point shooting to eventually pull away from Colby-Sawyer. The Mules shot 47.2 percent (17-for-36) from 3-point range. Colby also had a 55-30 advantage on the glass.
