FARMINGTON, Maine - January 27, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team was edged at UMaine-Farmington, 73-69, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 12-6 overall and 9-3 in the NAC. The Chargers will host Husson and Maine Maritime next weekend. UMF improves to 7-11 overall and 5-7 in conference play.
With the score tied at 69-69 with 1:14 left to play, UMF's Amir Moss made a layup to put the home team in front by a deuce. The Chargers could not get on the scoreboard in their final two possessions down the stretch and UMF added a pair of free throws to pull off the 73-69 victory.
UMF's Riley Robinson led all players with 21 points. Isaac Witham and Milani Hicks added 13 points apiece.
Patrick Coffey led the Chargers with 17 points.
Dana Bean finished 6-of-9 from the floor for 16 points to go along with eight rebounds.
Taylor Grande and
Jourdain Bell added 11 points apiece.
The Beavers were efficient on the offensive end making 51% of their shot attempts and 7-of-15 three-point shots. The Chargers made just 8-of-30 three-point attempts and finished with 40.6% overall shooting for the game.
Colby-Sawyer outrebounded UMF 35-30.
