NEW LONDON, N.H. - January 20, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team defeated Husson, 132-114, at the Knight Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. 

RESULTS

The Chargers had several event winners on the day led by senior Anna Gaskill. She came away with three individual victories and was a member of a winning relay team. SHe took the top spot in the 1650 freestyle by almost a minute with a time of 20:31.36. Gaskill also won the 100 freestyle in close fashion in 1:00.19. Her third victory came in the 50 butterfly by touching the wall in 31.45. 

Gaskill and senior Makenzie Welch, junior Meagan Thomsen and freshman Jinnae Jang were winners in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.55. 

Jang also posted wins in the 200 butterfly (2:35.55) and 100 IM (1:06.36). 

The 400 medley relay team of Jang, Welch, senior Jocelyn Biedrzycki and sophomore Grace Herde took the top spot by almost 20 seconds with a combined time of 4:37.80. 

Welch won the 200 backstroke by 33 seconds with a time of 2:27.06.

In the 50 backstroke, the Chargers took the top two spots. Thomsen won the event in 31.94 and was followed by Welch in 31.99. 

Two Colby-Sawyer swimmers also placed first and second in the 50 freestyle. Herde won in a time of 28.43, while Thomsen was second in 28.79. 

The Chargers will host their final home meet of the season next Saturday against Gordon.
