NEW LONDON, N.H. – January 16, 2018 – Colby-Sawyer sophomore
Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) tipped in the game-winning bucket off an inbounds play with less than a second left to lift the Chargers to a 61-59 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over Green Mountain College.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 10-4 overall and 7-1 in the NAC. The Chargers will travel to New England College for a 3 p.m. tip on Saturday. Green Mountain drops to 5-8 overall and 3-5 in the NAC. The Eagles host Thomas College on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Austin Boudreau (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) led all players with 20 points as he hit 6-of-13 three-point attempts. Junior
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) and
Dana Bean scored 11 points apiece. Sophomore
Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) was the fourth Chargers in double figures with 10 points. Senior
Taylor Grande (Bedford, N.H.) picked up four assists to move into 9th with 341 career assists.
Green Mountain received 17 points from junior De Shaun Carr (Moreno Valley, Calif.). Freshman Duane Goodman, Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.) added 11 points, while junior Sean Leflore (Moreno Valley, Calif.) finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Colby-Sawyer held a 59-57 lead with less than 30 seconds to play in the game when Leflore hit a baseline jumper to tie the score with 25 to go. Colby-Sawyer called a timeout and held for a final shot. As a Charger drove to the basket, the ball was stripped and went out of bounds to give Colby-Sawyer the ball on the end line with two seconds to play.

Dana Bean who put the ball over the rim for the two-point lead with .6 on the clock. The Chargers then knocked away the Eagles inbounds attempt to end the game.
The second half was played with intensity and flow after each team was sluggish in the first. The Eagles took a 35-30 lead 3:17 into the second half when Colby-Sawyer's
Austin Boudreau took over the game. Boudreau scored the game's next 17 points on a layup and five three-pointers to give the Chargers a 47-35 lead. Green Mountain responded with five quick points, but Boudreau hit another trey for Colby-Sawyer's 20th consecutive point for a 50-40 lead with 8:59 to play.
The Chargers were in front by 10 against at 57-47, but Green Mountain clawed back to a one-point deficit with 3:00 to play after Alex Sanchez (San Fernando Valley, Calif.) hit a deep ball setting up the thrilling finish.
Each team struggled to find the range on offense flow in the first half and shot below 30% from the floor. The Chargers led 27-26 at the break thanks to 14 points in the paint. Green Mountain used the three ball and seven made free throws to stay within one.
Green Mountain won the rebounding battle 51-40. Colby-Sawyer finished 32.4% from the floor, while the Eagles were 37.7%.
