NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 14, 2017 – The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team defeated Lyndon, 9-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division match on Friday afternoon.

Colby-Sawyer improves to 8-9 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Chargers will travel to Gordon on Monday. Lyndon drops to 1-9 overall and 0-4 in the NAC East. The Hornets play at Johnson State on Tuesday.  

Senior Dean Boodakian (Burlington, Mass.) and sophomore Alex Wright (St. Austell, Cornwall, England) earned an 8-2 victory over Tyler Hall (Keene, N.H.) and Jake LaCerda (Gray, Maine) at the top doubles spot. The No. 2 duo of senior Cass McCann (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and junior Andrew Peloquin (Greenville, R.I.) and the No. 3 team of freshman Cam Lynch (Haverhill, Mass.) and senior Will Triebel (Duxbury, Mass.) did not drop a game to win 8-0.

McCann and Hall battled for the closest singles match at the top flight. McCann prevailed 6-3, 6-2.

Boodakian dropped just two games en route to a 6-1, 6-1 win over LaCerda at the second flight.

Junior Ryan Broderick (Londonderry, N.H.) and senior Alex Townsend (Bangor, Maine) won their No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches 6-0, 6-0.

At No. 4, freshman Mike White (Woburn, Mass.) came away with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, Vt.).

Lynch also won by a 6-0, 6-1 score at the fifth flight over Ken Niemann (Au Sable Forks, N.Y.).
