KEENE, N.H. - October 21, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team competed at a meet hosted by Keene State on Saturday that featured the Owls, Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's.
Colby-Sawyer defeated Franklin Pierce 106-104, but fell to Keene State 228-40 and Saint Michael's 198-72.

Makenzie Welch came away with third place in the 200 freestyle to finish ahead of Franklin Pierce's swimmer. Welch clocked in at 2:10.84.
In the 50 freestyle,
Jinnae Jang placed fourth behind a pair of Keene competitors and one from FPU, but touched the wall ahead of Saint Michael's in 27.16.
Maddie Strong posted a pair of third place finishes in the 200 backstroke (2:23.53) and 200 IM (2:30.18). She also added a fifth place in the 100 butterfly (1:08.44) to gain points over Franklin Pierce in all three events.
The Chargers were trailing Franklin Pierce heading into the day's last event. The 400 free relay team of
Anna Gaskill, Jang, Welch and
Zoe Daudier combined for a time of 4:03.29 to place second out of eight teams and surpass the Ravens to earn the 106-104 victory.
The Chargers will compete at Norwich next Saturday.
