BANGOR, Maine - January 28, 2017 - Sophomore
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) scored a career-high 34 points but it was not enough as the Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell at Husson, 98-90, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 8-11 overall and 5-7 in the NAC. The Chargers will host Castleton on Tuesday. Husson remains atop the NAC standings at 10-2 and 12-5 overall.
Bell was 11-of-19 from the floor and added a career-high eight assists and six rebounds. Sophomore
Milani Hicks (Scarborough, Maine) collected a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Freshmen
Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) and
Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) rounded out the four Chargers in double figures with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Freshman
Austin Whaley (Enfield, N.H.) added eight points off the bench.
Husson's Raheem Anderson led all players with 37 points on 13-of-25 shooting. He added 11 assists. Justin Martin and Eli Itkin had 12 points apiece.

Anderson scored five of the Eagles' first seven points of the game as the home team raced out to a 7-2 advantage. Seven minutes into the half, a Bell trey knotted the game for the first time at 17-17. The teams then traded baskets over the next couple of possessions to keep the game tied. Mitch Worcester then rattled eight straight points to give Husson a 32-24 lead, which Husson would not relinquish. A jumper by Anderson, with less than a minute to go, gave Husson its biggest lead at 55-41.
Taylor Grande hit a pair of free throws to end the half with Colby-Sawyer trailing 55-43.
Husson carried its double digit lead six minutes into the second half until a Bell jumper cut the deficit to nine at 62-53. The Chargers trailed 88-78 after an Itkin three-pointer with 4:30 left in the game when Colby-Sawyer used a 6-0 spurt to pull within four. With time running out, Colby-Sawyer was forced to foul. Husson made 8-of-10 free throws down the stretch to secure th 98-90 victory.
The Eagles shot 45.5% from beyond the arc and made two more two-point bucket than three-point shots. (17-15).
