WORCESTER, Mass. - September 14, 2016 - Colby-Sawyer senior
Andrew Clothier (Matamata, New Zealand) became the men's soccer program's leader in career assists with his 23rd in tonight's 3-1 loss to regionally ranked Clark University.
Clark, which is ranked seventh in New England according to this week's NSCAA regional poll, improves to 5-0. Colby-Sawyer evens its record at 2-2. The Chargers will travel to Bangor, Maine on Saturday to play Husson in a North Atlantic Conference opener for both teams.
After Clark opened the scoring in the seventh minute, the Chargers knotted the score two minutes later when Clothier sent a bending ball into the box where senior
Rick Prindiville (Hooksett, N.H.) headed home his second goal of the season. Clothier has a team best three helpers this season.
The home team retook the lead after converting a penalty kick in the 28th minute.
Clark added an insurance goal late in the second to secure the 3-1 win.
In addition to the seven saves made by goalie
Shane Sacks, the Charger defenders were pivotal and were credited three saves.
