NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory at Smith College on Friday evening.
The Chargers improve to 15-4 and will play at Mount Holyoke on Saturday morning. The Pioneers drop to 4-9.
Colby-Sawyer swept doubles action with
Ashlyn Ramsay and
Ashley Woodside teaming for an 8-4 victory at the top spot. The No. 2 duo of
Aislinn O'Connor and
Evelyn Miller and No. 3 team of
Lauren Blanchard and
Maddy Gemerek each won their match by an 8-2 score.
Ashlyn Ramsay fell in the first set of her top flight match with Noa Dubin, but evened the match with a 6-2 win of her own in the second set. Ramsay then put the match away by winning a pro set in the third, 10-7.
Evelyn Miller continued her solid singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 to push her singles record to 14-2.
Lauren Blanchard breezed to a straight sets win at No. 5 and dropped just one game.
Christine Hill took her No. 6 match 6-1, 6-2.
