HANOVER, N.H. - March 23, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team continued to play a tough schedule to begin the spring in preparation for the NAC/NEAC Crossover in May. The Falcons of Bentley University, which plays in Division II, defeated the Chargers, 9-0.
The Chargers fall to 14-4 and will have several days off before resuming action at Smith College on April 1.
Numerous Chargers gave their counterparts all they could handle in singles action.
Ashley Woodside forced three sets but was edged 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 at the second flight.
At the fourth flight,
Evelyn Miller fell in the first set 6-2, but evened the match with a 7-5 second set win. The two players then played a lengthy third set with Hannah Fabianski coming away with the 10-8 win.
Aislinn O'Connor dropped the first set of her No. 3 match, 6-2 but forced a tie break in the second set before falling 7-6.
Lauren Blanchard also pushed her No. 6 opponent to a tie break in the first set.
